CLUB RULES

RULES FOR THE ENJOYMENT OF EVERYONE

We ask that all members respect the rules as outlined below. These are for the safe handling of our dogs and handlers, and allow us to train most effectively and enjoyably. Thank you for your cooperation.

WEATHER RULES
  1. All dogs must be under the control of their handlers at all times.

  2. ​Dogs are not to be hit either by hand, or by any object, under any circumstances.

  3. ​Dogs must be on a lead at all times (unless training for off-lead work in class).

  4. Harnesses are not permitted, except under exceptional circumstances. If you are unsure, please check with your trainer.

  5. ​Handlers must remove all droppings of their dogs, and dispose of in the rubbish bin provided.

  6. ​Handlers must not to wear sunglasses (except for medical reasons).

  7. Handlers must not wear:

    1. too loose clothing

    2. high heels or

    3. thongs or sandals

  8. ​Smoking is not allowed whilst training.

  9. ​Dogs are not to be approached whilst tethered.

  10. ​Bitches in season must not be brought to training.

HEAT RULE

There is no training on Sunday mornings if the forecast for Wonthaggi is predicted 30 degrees or above according to the 6pm Channel 7 news or  7pm news on the ABC the Saturday night prior.​

There will be no training on Wednesday evenings if the forecast for Wonthaggi is predicted 30 degrees or above according to the 6pm Channel 7 news or 7pm news on the ABC Tuesday evening prior.

RAIN RULE

Typically we try to train, unless the rain is exceptionally heavy. 

​

Note: Poor weather will affect our ability to train with agility equipment.

Statement of Purpose
​​The aims of the club are to foster the training and socialisation of all canines and their handlers, we aim:
  • To teach inspiring instructors and support their learning and development to insure the continuation of hte club;

  • To train handlers in the correct, kind and humane manner in which to work with their dogs;

  • To promote and extend a sences of team spirit and friendliness within the club;

  • To educate the community in the training and control of dogs in public and events such as shows, fete's, parades etc.;

  • Training will be carried out according to the best practices presently known and chang changes for the betterment of this training will be introduces as required;

  • This association is a not for profit club.  Any monies in the form of membership and joining fees collected will be used to the benefit of all members;

  • All instructors work voluntarily.

ABOUT US

Our main objective is to assist members to have well-socialised, well-mannered dogs.  We use non-forceful methods and positive reinforcement.
